Security Engineer – Cyber – Hybrid from London - £90,000
Where do you rank ‘Cyber fitness’ in importance for a company?
Given this weekends news of the MOD being hacked, it shows how importance cyber fitness is. Ideally, you would put this as your first option to be successful at this role.
Here Cyber is up to you! You’ll be working with a start-up that have seen some awesome success in the fintech space. They rely heavily on third party companies for their security and whilst that will remain, they need a champion internally. The ultimate goes for this person if I had to give you one is getting ISO accreditations in place.
This won’t happen overnight. First of all, you need to understand your stakeholders, know the gaps, get a feeling for what works well and what doesn’t.
Your role initially will be rolling out change but in the right order, over the right amount of time. Get the right tech, tools and processes in place but also have the emotional intelligence to get people on side; you love cyber, so because you understand a policy, doesn’t mean everyone else does!
Your impact could be insane though – owning all cyber, making a business cyberfit whilst reporting into the CTO and interacting across teams. You’ll have every single challenge imaginable to overcome and the experience will be amazing. Even better, you’ll be doing this in a Bcorp business who have a product dedicated to ensuring people live fulfilled lives!
Tech stack they use:
AWS Cloud
Python, Powershell for scripting
They use an app across IOS & android
Platform side is Docker, Kubernetes and Kafka
Ideally your background involves a mixture of the above and you can join as the cyber expert understand their environment and what solutions you need to roll out to impact the business.
