Identify any inefficient or poorly performing workload.
Optimise complex queries, validate changes in terms of performance and correctness.
Work closely with the development team; review schema changes.
Ensure customer data is protected through security, backups and High Availability.
Develop and maintain robust backup and recovery strategies to prevent data loss.
Essential Skills Required: Proven experience as SQL Server Database Administrator managing mission critical SQL Server instances.
Demonstrated ability to tune SQL workloads, including monitoring production workloads, plan caches, understanding execution plans, optimise complex queries.
Experience working closely with a development team.
Desirable Skills: Experience of SSIS, Data Warehouse, reporting solutions.
Knowledge of Azure SQL.
Fleet/Leasing/Accounting industry experience.
