Finance Assistant - Term Time

The opportunity Nigel Wright is working in partnership with an organisation who are looking to add a Temp Finance Assistant to join their team based in York. We are looking for people who are available to start immediately to help the organisation through a period of restructure  Finance Assistant - Temp ongoing (possibility of a Temp to Perm option) Full Time Hours – 37hrs per week Term Time only   £20,800 (Pro Rata Salary) The role... Working closely with the Business Manager and part of the Finance Team providing full finance admin support. Some of the daily duties include:  To ensure purchase order requisition and staff expenses are authorised and processed.

Ensuring goods received notes are checked and updated on the organisations accounting system.

Maintain stocks of office equipment and supplies needed by the school

Update the inventory of all items of furniture & equipment for the school

Completing debtors requests and reporting to the correct team to ensure recovery of outstanding payments

Provision of management information from the respective cashless systems to ensure accurate figures for the Trusts bank accounts

Collating and provision of any information required to support the school financial management/procurement activity for the Business Manager.

Undertaking financial Admin and reconciliation of catering, educational visits, transport and any other income streams

Posting results to the Financial Accounting system in accordance with the Trusts monthly financial management timetable.

Preparing monthly payroll reports, monthly capitation reports for school budgets

Prepare for review monthly financial reports

Providing general administration support within the team as required.

What we are looking for... Some of the key things we are looking for in the ideal candidate would be:  Previous experience within a similar role - working within education would be of particular interest but not essential

NVQ Level 2 or equivalent within relevant discipline

Good IT skills with MS Office and accounting software

Strong numeracy and attention to detail

Good communication skills as will be liaising with members of various teams, stakeholders, parents and children.

Ability to work as part of the team but still manage own workload to ensure work is completed within specific deadlines

Flexibility to assist with various tasks as required by the team
