We are looking for a dynamic, committed and experienced Head Chef to lead the kitchen team at the award-winning Gloucester Old Spot in Bristol.
The Gloucester Old Spot is an independent, local pub serving freshly cooked, locally sourced food. Not forgetting the popular weekly Sunday Roast. We are looking for a Head Chef who is passionate about food and service and can help us to push forward. With one of the largest beer gardens in Bristol we are looking for a leader who has a track record of managing busy kitchens. Heading up a brigade of 5 chefs this will be a hands-on role where you will play an integral part in the success of the business.
The Head Chef will:
- Be a skilled chef with a great eye for detail
- Be customer focused and present exceptional standards at all times
- Have an enthusiastic and ambitious attitude
- Show commitment and determination
- Be an inspirational leader and have the ability to work alongside the management team to develop and deliver ideas
- Have the ability to work under pressure and cope with a busy service is essential
- Have a minimum of 2 years experience in a similar level position
Head Chef responsibilities will include:
- Writing and costing the menus and delivering the menu to the highest spec through their team at all times
- An understanding of maintaining food GPs across all aspects of the food side of the business is essential
- Sourcing suppliers to obtain the best quality and price
- Stock control, ordering and waste management
- Recruitment and training of your team
- Scheduling and labour cost control
- Health & Safety and Food Hygiene & Safety Compliance
The role is offered on a full-time contract of 45 hours per week over 5 days.
We offer a salary/bonus/tip structure of up to £45,000 per annum.
