Finance Analyst

Financial Analyst - Supply Chain & Operations

Salary: Circa £50,000 Per annum + Annual bonus Hybrid role, 37.5 hours per week, Mon - Friday

Role Overview:

As a Financial Analyst embedded within the Supply Chain & Operations division at the Cramlington plant, your primary mission is to deliver insightful financial analysis that supports operational objectives while maintaining robust financial controls. Collaborating closely with the Plant Controller, you will play a pivotal role in budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes, ensuring cost control and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Planning & Analysis:

Assist in the development of the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) for Cramlington, encompassing manufacturing overhead expenses, losses, and S,G&A.

Provide support for quarterly forecasting activities, offering valuable insights to drive decision-making.

Month-End Reporting:

Ensure accurate accounting of losses and inventory adjustments, aligning with month-end close procedures.

Conduct cost centre reviews to facilitate month-end financial reconciliation.

Prepare comprehensive month-end reports, including a tracker for losses and savings in Cramlington operations.

Financial Controls:

Uphold compliance with SOX requirements, serving as the Process Owner for Inventory Controls.

Monitor and report cycle count accuracy for Cramlington operations, maintaining adherence to financial handbook guidelines.

Process Transformation:

Collaborate with the Plant Controller to identify and implement process improvements within operations finance, fostering collaboration with the Shared Service Centre (SSC) and Accenture.

Assist in the implementation of Business Intelligence (BI) initiatives across Cramlington operations, driving efficiency and data-driven decision-making.

Engagement and Motivation:

Take ownership of professional development, aligning with personal and organisational goals.

Cultivate collaborative relationships across the Supply Chain & Operations organisation, particularly with plant leadership and operations coordinators.

Promote the use of Enterprise Lean Sigma (ELS) within the finance function and provide support for training SC&Ops teams on concepts such as Economic Value Added (EVA) and decision-making tools.

Qualifications:

Essential:

Bachelor's degree and professional accountancy qualification (CIMA, ICAEW).

1-3 years of post-qualification experience in industry, preferably within manufacturing, or a reputable accounting firm.

Advanced proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets.

Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced finance environment.

Desirable:

Experience with Google Apps.

Familiarity with Oracle E-Business, QAD, COGNOS, TM1, or Magma systems.
