We are offering:
A 45 hour contract per week and a permanent position.
-£28,000 salary annually.
-A healthy share of 10% service charge added into your monthly pay. estimated between 5k to 6k annually but may vary.

Job Title: Sous Chef
Job Description : As a Sous Chef in a busy café, you will be a key member of the kitchen team, supporting the Head Chef in the preparation and execution of high-quality dishes. Your role will involve supervising the kitchen staff, coordinating food production, and maintaining kitchen standards to ensure a seamless and efficient operation. Your culinary expertise and leadership skills will play a vital role in enhancing the cafe's dining experience and meeting customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
Food Preparation and Cooking:
Assist the Head Chef in planning and preparing a diverse menu that aligns with the cafe's concept and customer preferences.
Oversee food preparation and ensure all dishes are cooked to the required standard and presented attractively.
Team Supervision:
Supervise and motivate kitchen staff, including Line chefs and kitchen porters.
Delegate tasks, provide guidance, and conduct training to enhance team skills and performance.
Menu Development:
Collaborate with the Head Chef to create new and innovative dishes that reflects the businesses niche for specials.
Ensure that menu items are cost-effective while maintaining high-quality ingredients.
Quality Control:
Maintain consistent food quality and taste across all dishes served in the cafe.
Conduct regular inspections of food stations and oversee the proper storage of ingredients.
Kitchen Operations:
Manage kitchen operations during service hours, ensuring a smooth workflow and timely execution of orders.
Coordinate with other kitchen staff and front-of-house team to optimise service efficiency.
Health and Safety Compliance:
Enforce food safety standards and hygiene practices in accordance with local regulations and best practices.
Ensure the kitchen team follows proper safety procedures and that the kitchen area is clean and organised at all time and daily, weekly and monthly cleaning processes are followed at all times.
Inventory Management:
Assist in monitoring kitchen inventory levels and work with the Head Chef to order supplies as needed.
Minimise food waste and manage stock rotation to maintain fresh and high-quality ingredients.
Culinary Creativity:
Bring creative ideas to the table, suggesting new recipes, techniques, and presentation styles to enhance the cafe's offerings.
Qualifications and Skills:
Culinary qualifications or relevant culinary training is preferred.
Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within a busy café or restaurant setting.
Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage and motivate the kitchen team.
Excellent knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and plating presentations.
Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
Understanding of food safety and sanitation standards.
Flexibility to work weekends, and holidays as required.
